About Food For Thought
Established in 2010, Food For Thought Outreach started as a small family project to serve food-insecure students in one school for one year. With a $300 budget, Founder Tiffanie Nelson partnered with her son’s school to begin providing critical access to food to children in need. Since then, Food For Thought has become the go-to organization for fighting childhood hunger in Walton and Okaloosa Counties. The organization has grown to meet the ever-changing needs of the community and today provides year-round access to food for over 3,600 children in our community.

Each year, the number of children enrolled in Food For Thought's programs continues to grow, reflecting the increasing need in our community. As awareness of child hunger rises, more schools are joining our network, allowing us to expand our reach and serve even more students. We’re committed to meeting this growing demand by strengthening our programs and building partnerships that ensure no child in Walton or Okaloosa County goes without the food they need to succeed.
